Week 2

My family was visiting for the first week after we got home from the hospital which kept things hectic around our house along with trying to get used to taking care of a newborn.  I am glad they got to come see Charlotte and help out with cooking, groceries, etc. but this past week has been great getting into our own little routine.

It is amazing how awake and alert she is already!  Although she doesn't stay awake for more than an hour or two, she is wide awake and interactive during that time.  We are still waiting for her to get into more of a sleep routine, but she sleeps in 2 to 4 hour segments at night - not too bad!

This week Charley went on her first walk!  I meant to start walking earlier, but I ended up having a badly pinched nerve in my back until a couple of days ago.  We try to go on a walk every day just to get out of the house and get some exercise.  We chose the City Mini Stroller in Sand/Stone because I read several great reviews and it is classified as a jogging stroller.  I plan on starting to run again in the next few weeks.  So far I LOVE it!  It is lightweight so I don't feel like I'm pushing a huge piece of machinery, it turns easily and I love how adjustable it is in terms of letting Charley lay all the way down or sit straight up.   She seems to like it too - if she isn't sitting there wide-eyed looking around, she's fast asleep :)

Note: Because she is still a little small for the stroller we took the Body Support from her carseat so she isn't slumped over the whole time

Here are some pictures from our first family walk:

It was a little chilly outside so we bundled her in blankets - HELLO Fall :)

She's Here!!

Charlotte Call Windham arrived on Saturday September 7th at 7:33pm weighing 8lbs. 4oz. and was 21.5 inches long.  She arrived just in time for the college football games ;) We have enjoyed this last week getting to know our precious, alert baby girl!!

Fall Frenzy

I decorated the house a little early this year since I'm sure I will be slightly preoccupied when Autumn actually hits.  I can't wait for the cool, crisp weather, football games, jeans (that will hopefully fit again), pumpkin and apple recipes and of course the arrival of our little girl!  I won't be completely done decorating until we hit up the pumpkin patch. . . one of baby Charlotte's first outings I'm sure!  So until pumpkins start popping up at the grocery store, pumpkin pie chai lattes take over my diet and our baby girl decides to arrive I wanted to share some of my fall favorites.

I made my first batch of pumpkin bread this past weekend mmm so delicious!  And I love that the recipe I use makes two loaves so it actually lasts us more than a couple of days.  I froze the other loaf to eat once Charlotte is here!

A peek at the fall decor in our casa! My little nook in the kitchen, wallflowers (love these for all seasons), and the centerpiece on our dining table

Found this bag at Bath and Body Works the other day and I've been using it to take my lunch to work :) LOVE!

Charley is ready for fall too - already has her game day outfit picked \m/ Hook 'Em!

39 WEEKS

Week 39

Best Moment This Week: Finished up my last week of work, now just resting and waiting!
Miss Anything? Mobility and being able to get comfortable, but I'm enjoying these last few days of having her in my belly even if that means I feel as big as a house.
Symptoms/Labor signs: LOTS of braxton hicks.  Charlotte recently discovered my sciatic nerve, so that's been a little painful.  Also, I am getting more and more clumsy - anything that can be dropped probably will be, especially kitchen utensils with food on them.  Awesome.
Movements: Lots of hands and feet moving around.  She also sticks her back out on the right side of my stomach making it look kinda strange and lop-sided!
Cravings: Not really hungry even for sweets.  Mostly eating fruit and snacks more than meals.
Looking Forward To: Her due date (or any other day she decides she's ready to come!) seeing her face and holding her in my arms - SOOOO excited :)

SEPTEMBER!!

I can't believe it is already September and our little girl will be here in no time! September has always been my favorite so it only makes sense that Charlotte chose it for her birth month.  I remember the day we found out we would be having a baby like it was yesterday, finding out she was a girl, picking a name and now here we are!  The last nine months have been an incredible journey, but I know this is only the beginning.  Hopefully baby girl enjoys her last few days in my belly and isn't getting too comfortable in there because we are so excited to meet her.  Can't wait to let y'all know when little Charley makes her big debut :)
Stay tuned. . .
